Querle is a spacious, detached cottage, tucked away on a hill, overlooking the peaceful Helford River and unspoilt countryside. It’s a real Swallows and Amazons type property, surrounded by woodland and established gardens, with stunning views of the water from a decked terrace.  Inside there’s a comfortable west facing living room with wood burner, a conservatory where you can get away from the kids for some peace and quiet, a well-equipped kitchen and dining area as well as three, light and airy bedrooms.

The Helford River has often been described as the jewel in Cornwall’s crown. Much of the surrounding region – lush valleys, sub-tropical gardens and sandy coves – is a designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Nearby Budock Vean Hotel offers golf and spa facilities, plus an indoor swimming pool, all open to non-residents. There's private access to the beach here where you can hire kayaks or catch a cruise along the water with Helford River Cruises. Visit the sub-tropical gardens of Trebah or Glendurgan, both within walking distance, or have a wander down to Durgan Beach. You can book on the Blue Pointer and take to the river for a fishing trip. Helford Passage is close by, where you can sample locally caught seafood dishes and a pint of Proper Job Cornish ale. Spend the day on the beach here, or catch the foot ferry across to Helford Village, where you could wander along the coastline to Daphne Du Maurier’s atmospheric Frenchman’s Creek. If you’re feeling energetic, pack up a picnic and hike the coastal path, from Helford Passage to Maenporth or stroll along the cliffs into Falmouth, reputedly the third largest natural harbour in the world. All in all Querle is great base for exploring this part of the Duchy.
